Setting Up Site-Specific Security Requirements
This article is for Clients.
Every site has different security needs. A data centre has different requirements from a retail store, and a hospital has different requirements from a construction site. Attlock lets you define site-specific security requirements so your security provider knows exactly what's expected at each location — and so you can hold them accountable to those standards.
Where to Configure Site Requirements

- Log in to the Attlock client portal.
- Go to Sites and select the site you want to configure.
- Click Site Settings, then select the Security Requirements tab.
Guard Qualification Requirements
You can specify which certifications and qualifications guards must hold to be assigned to this site. Common requirements include:
- Valid security licence — mandatory in most jurisdictions; Attlock will flag any guard without a current licence
- First aid / CPR certification — required for sites where medical response may be needed
- Background check clearance — for sites handling sensitive data, valuables, or vulnerable populations
- Site-specific training — custom training your organisation requires (e.g., fire warden, hazmat awareness)
- Physical requirements — if the role requires specific physical capabilities (e.g., vehicle patrol, height access)
Once set, Attlock will automatically flag any guard assigned to this site who doesn't meet the requirements, and notify your security provider to make adjustments.
Access Control Rules
Define who is allowed on site and under what conditions:
- Visitor policy — whether visitors require pre-registration, escort, or can sign in independently
- Contractor access — whether contractors need to be on an approved access list before entry
- After-hours access — who is permitted on site outside of business hours and what verification is required
- Restricted zones — areas within the site that require additional clearance (e.g., server rooms, executive floors, storage areas)
Guards see these rules in the Attlock mobile app and are prompted to enforce them during check-ins and visitor management.
Patrol Requirements
Specify how often guards should patrol the site and which areas must be covered:
- Patrol frequency — how often a full patrol should be completed (e.g., every 2 hours)
- Mandatory checkpoints — specific locations that must be scanned on every patrol (e.g., main entrance, car park, server room)
- Patrol route — the order in which checkpoints should be visited
- Night patrol requirements — whether patrol frequency increases during overnight shifts
Patrol completion is tracked automatically in Attlock. If a guard misses a checkpoint or falls behind schedule, you'll receive an alert if patrol alerts are enabled in your Notification Settings.
Post Orders
Post orders are the detailed instructions guards follow at your site — covering everything from how to greet visitors to what to do in an emergency. You can upload your post orders directly to the site in Attlock:
- Go to Site Settings > Documents.
- Click Upload Post Orders.
- Upload a PDF or Word document.
Guards assigned to your site can access post orders in the Attlock mobile app before and during their shift.
Emergency Procedures
Document your site's emergency procedures so guards have them on hand:
- Evacuation routes and assembly points
- Emergency contact numbers (fire, police, medical, building management)
- Lockdown procedures
- Incident escalation steps
These are stored under Site Settings > Emergency Procedures and are accessible to guards offline.
Reviewing Compliance Against Requirements
To check whether your current guard assignments meet your site requirements, go to Sites, select the site, and click the Compliance tab. This shows a checklist of your requirements and whether each is currently met.
