Logging Parking Entries and Violations

The Parking Manager in Attlock helps you monitor parking lots at your site — logging vehicles that enter, tracking capacity, and issuing violations when rules are broken.

Accessing the Parking Manager

Attlock guard mobile home screen with active-shift actions.
Guard mobile app: start from the home screen to open the required shift workflow.
  1. Tap the More tab at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap "Parking" (Parking Square icon, purple).
  3. The Parking Manager screen loads with a summary at the top.

Understanding the Summary Cards

Three summary cards give you a quick overview:

  • Lots — the total number of parking lots at your site.
  • Parked — the total number of vehicles currently parked across all lots.
  • Violations — the number of active (unresolved) parking violations.

Viewing Parking Lots

Each parking lot appears as a card showing:

  • Lot name (e.g., "North Lot," "Visitor Parking," "Executive Garage").
  • Capacity — how many spaces are occupied vs. total (e.g., "45/60 occupied").
  • Occupancy bar — a visual indicator that changes color based on how full the lot is:
    • Green — less than 70% full. Plenty of space.
    • Orange — 70–90% full. Getting busy.
    • Red — over 90% full. Nearly at capacity.
  • Two action buttons: "Log Entry" and "Violation."

Logging a Vehicle Entry

When a vehicle enters a parking lot:

  1. Tap "Log Entry" (green with arrow icon) on the appropriate lot.
  2. Fill in the vehicle details:
    • License Plate (required) — enter the full plate number (e.g., "ABC 1234"). Double-check for accuracy.
    • Vehicle Color (optional) — helps identify the vehicle later.
    • Vehicle Make (optional) — the manufacturer (e.g., "Toyota," "Ford").
  3. Review your entry.
  4. Tap "Log Entry" to save.
  5. The vehicle is recorded and the lot's occupancy count updates.

Issuing a Parking Violation

When you find a vehicle in violation of parking rules:

  1. Tap "Violation" (red with alert icon) on the lot where the violation occurred.
  2. Fill in the violation details:
    • License Plate (required) — the violating vehicle's plate number.
    • Violation Type (required) — scroll through the available options and tap the appropriate one:
      • Expired Meter — time ran out on a metered spot.
      • Wrong Zone — parked in a zone they're not authorized for.
      • No Permit — no visible parking permit or pass.
      • Handicap Violation — parked in a handicap spot without a valid placard.
      • Fire Lane — parked in a designated fire lane.
      • Double Parked — taking up two spaces or blocking another vehicle.
      • Overtime — exceeded the maximum allowed parking duration.
      • Other — for violations not covered by the standard types.
    • Description (optional) — add additional context (e.g., "Vehicle blocking loading dock entrance," "Parked in reserved executive spot without authorization").
  3. Tap "Issue Violation" (red button) to record it.
  4. The violation is logged and your supervisor is notified.

Tips

  • Log plates accurately — double-check the license plate number before submitting. One wrong character can void the entire entry.
  • Take a photo for evidence — especially when issuing violations. Use the Incident Report feature for photo documentation if the violation is significant.
  • Report full lots to your supervisor — if a lot hits red (>90% capacity), let your supervisor know so they can arrange overflow parking or post signage.
  • Check for permits visually — before issuing a "No Permit" violation, check the windshield, dashboard, and rearview mirror for parking passes.
  • Be consistent with violations — apply the same rules to every vehicle. Selective enforcement creates problems.
  • Log entries during peak hours — high-traffic times are when accurate tracking matters most.
  • Note the vehicle's exact location in the description if the lot is large — this helps if the vehicle needs to be located later.
